Commissions

The majority of work I have been asked to do so far has been based upon the integration of a coif with a maille shirt, and the addition of mittens to complete a 12th to early 13th Century look.

This has been a popular request, but the list of enquiries has been varied and has included the following:

  • Tapering of a shirt to emulate a 14th century example.

  • The alteration of sleeves to make for a better fit and repairs.

  • Customisation of a coif to fit an example of a 'Gallowglass' kern from a Scottish grave slab.

  • Modification of 15th century voiders in 6mm links.

  • Customisation of maille chausses to include a sabaton sewn to a shoe.
  • Chausses with a seperate sabaton, mimicking the Wells Cathedral effigy.
  • Fabrication of a 'Bishop's Mantle' for a C16th re-enator for the Battle of Flodden.

Whilst this is only a small amount of the work I have dealt with, I am open to new ideas and am hoping to introduce some new garments and hand forged maille making kits for the Living History fans, so watch this space!
